The Ghost Rockets
In 1946, a “wave of ‘ghost rockets’ shook Scandinavia,” when over 2,000 reports of the mystery missiles were recorded. Many of them poured in during August that year, but sightings began as early as February and continued through December.
Some ghost rockets in Scandinavia were linked to meteors since many of them occurred during the annual Perseid meteor shower. A few of these strange rockets exhibited features that didn’t match meteors, such as the capacity to maneuver.
