America’s Favorite Drink
Coca-Cola was invented in 1892 in Atlanta, Georgia, and it has been a famous American (and worldwide) drink ever since. Although Coca-Cola and other soda companies sell around the world, the U.S. and Mexico are the world’s biggest soft drink consumers. We all know soda pop is incredibly unhealthy and full of sugar, so some people outside the U.S. are surprised to learn just how much we drink.
Soda is treated as more of a sweet treat in other parts of the world, rather than a regular beverage to have with a meal. We have to admit that a Coke with a burger and fries is absolutely delicious sometimes, even if it’s not the healthiest food choice. The free refills don’t help with resisting temptation, either.
