Maternity Leave Is Too Short
Maternity leave in the U.S. has become a hot topic in recent years. The United States is the only developed country in the world that does not have guaranteed paid maternity leave for new mothers. It’s left up to employers, who often don’t provide paid leave and if they do, it’s not for that long. This is shocking to most other countries, which all have some kind of policy in place for fully or partially paid leave.

This poster is correct in saying that most new mothers who have a full-time job get about 6 weeks of maternity leave, but not everyone is guaranteed their salary while they adjust to their new bundle of joy. This can cause a lot of stress for new parents, and can force people to go back to work before they’re ready.
