The sports culture is very unique here in the U.S. American football is one of the most popular sports in the country, even though it hasn’t gained much traction in other parts of the world. Our obsession with football extends past the NFL and bleeds into college-level teams. Nowhere else in the world are college sports teams as popular, and non-Americans are baffled.

College-level sports don’t really exist in other countries, so the concept of rooting for a team of non-professional players who attend a school you didn’t even go to is… a bit much for people outside the U.S. It’s a huge industry that draws millions of fans and lots of money to schools each year.
