Its Geography is Unique
There are many unique features about Australia but one of the most noteworthy facts about this place is its geography. For starters, it’s the only country-continent in the world that also happens to be an island, making it the smallest continent and the largest island simultaneously. It’s nearly as big as the continental United States although it may not seem so.
Nearly 40% of the country is uninhabitable due to the shortage of rainfall in the Outback which is in the middle. That’s why more than 80% of people live in the coastal parts. Because they’re so isolated, the people are extremely self-sufficient and proud of it.
