They Have Megabats
Imagine looking out of your bedroom window only to see this creature staring back at you. No that’s not Count Dracula (although it could be), that’s what the Aussies call a Megabat or a Flying Fox. In case you’re wondering, Australia has not one but four species of these creatures.
Adult flying foxes can weigh up to two pounds but the good news is they’re not after your blood and prefer fruit, nectar, and pollen. They do the important job of spreading seeds and pollen every single night – almost 60000 seeds along 30 miles so think of them as the Batman of bats.
