Shoes Off
Growing up in an Asian household, particularly in the Philippines, we are always thought as a child to always follow the norms and customs as told by our elders. One of these customs is by taking off our footwear and not wearing them inside the house. This is done in order to maintain the cleanliness inside the house and to uphold these customs that started years ago.

Apparently, this is a custom that is very common in most Asian countries, like Thailand. The tourists in Thailand will usually just walk directly inside someone’s house with their shoes on. Local Thai people said that this is part of their practice of proper etiquette inside the house. In my opinion, as tourists, we should respect and abide by these customs.
