Before the outbreak, one of the most talked-about topics on the internet was whether Aly Raisman would compete in the 2020 Olympics. She had confirmed that she would not and that she would instead devote her efforts to making gymnastics safer in the future, following the whole he-who-will-not-be-named scandal that affected hundreds of young female athletes.

Aly has taken a step back from gymnastics. She hopes that by sharing her story, other survivors of abuse will come out of hiding and demand the management of USA Gymnastics make drastic changes.
