#42: Terrible Tipping
All right, another excellent complaint about tipping: the precise amount that you ought to tip different people in different industries is so varied, and it seems like every day, there is some new group that has decided that they ought to be tipped as well. We need a book just to keep track of it all.
Waiters at a restaurant used to be 15%, but now it’s 20 or even 25%. Hair stylists are now 20%, but coffee or alcohol is 10%, except in some situations, the recommended advice is to tip $1.00, rather than a certain percent. And don’t even get me started on fancy hotels, where everyone is supposed to get a tip but everyone gets a different tip amount.
