50M hits!
You might’ve missed this one if you’re not a frequent Facebook user. Boomers, for whatever reason, like to refer to YouTube “views” as “hits.” We’re not exactly sure where this came from. Perhaps they’re trying to bring their age-old lingo into the digital world, but we couldn’t care less.
However, it is pretty funny, seeing as how YouTube clearly refers to “views” as “views.” And when was something last considered a “hit?” Please forgive us as we don’t stay up-to-date with the newest songs, artists, and movies. Oh, no, are we turning old, too? Nah, it’s the younger generation that has no idea what music deserves to be called “hits.”
