I paid for your school, so listen to me!
This one has to be one of the more annoying things we’ve heard of. A boomer parent pays for their child’s school because having a degree will make them more successful in the future. However, when the child uses what they learned in class against their parents, then suddenly, they’re a know-it-all showoff.
They’ll fight tooth and nail to try to convince you of their outdated beliefs, like working hard is all it takes to succeed in this world, and that you need to get married before you’re 23. Sure, it’s nice that you have your kid’s best interests at heart, but disagreeing with you isn’t a reason to get all worked up.
