Open Water
Open Water is a horror film that is based on the true-life events of Tom and Eileen Lonergan. While on a scuba diving excursion in 198, the two wound up becoming abandoned at sea. For those that are deathly afraid of sharks, perhaps this isn’t the movie for you.
Anyway, the film was created on a budget of just $500,000. The filmmakers took an incredibly minimalistic approach to save as much as possible. In the end, the storyline was enough to attract viewers, and the 2003 film wound up grossing $52 million at the box office.
