The King’s Speech
The King’s Speech is a biographical drama that depicted the relationships between UK’s King George V and his speech therapist. At the time, the king struggled to string two words together without stuttering, which led to a debilitating fear of speaking to the public. This was a huge point of contention since, well, he was the king.
The movie received a modest budget of around $15 million or £8 million, but when all was said and done, it grossed close to $430 million. In 395 cinemas across Great Britain and Ireland, The King’s Speech made £3.5 million on its opening weekend.
