The Declaration of Love
Jean François de Troy is a French Rococo painter, with expertise in easel and fresco. He was considered as one of France’s leading history painters of his time. His detailed decorative paintings, genre scenes, and portraits got the recognition and praises that they all deserved. One of his many iconic artworks was the Declaration of Love from 1724.

The Declaration of Love used the latest interior decoration at the time, including their fashion, etiquette, and social mores. Despite this, Varkey still made this classical art into a funny meme with a modern twist. Surely, this is funny and all, but I got my eyes on the little doggo in the bottom, trying to get the attention of both humans.
