He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not
Jozef Laurent Dyckmans, also known as Josephus Laurentius Dyckmans, is a well-known Belgian painter who specializes in genre scenes and portraits. Aside from his paintings in intimate indoor settings, he shows versatility by also painting portraits, landscapes, cityscapes and still lifes. One of which is the painting called, “He loves me, he loves me not.”

In this painting, you can see two girls holding some flowers, who might be playing the game, He loves me, He loves me not. However, Varkey had a different game in mind, so when he added the conversation to the art, I can’t help but laugh out loud. This is exactly the visual depiction of my two brain cells just when I decided to go to sleep.
