Buffing your iron
People fall into two different camps, we’ve found when it comes to ironing. Those who iron items when they need to wear them, and those who have 2-hour sessions ironing everything crinkly in the house. But whichever one of those camps you fit into, you’ll need to clean your iron occasionally.
No scrubbing is needed, however. Take a sheet of paper, sprinkle it with some salt, and rub this all over the bottom of the iron (when it’s cold, of course). All the water stains and marks will come off easily.
