Use apple slices to moisten old pastries
Making homemade pastries is one of the best things in the world. They may not always come out right, but at least everybody will be too polite to critique your baking. But what can we do with the leftovers? They’ll lose their moisture overnight, even if you place them in an airtight container.
What you can do to preserve your baked good’s moistness is to place a couple of slices inside of the container before storage. The moisture from the apple slices will permeate the surface of your pastry, leaving them nice and tender for the next person. You can eat the apple slices, too, but they’ll be slightly dry.
