Sanitize cutting boards with salt and lemon
Most of us don’t give cutting boards a second thought. After all, a good wash with soap and elbow grease will get rid of most if not all of the surface bacteria, right? Although this might be the case, wooden cutting boards have porous surfaces, and bacteria and other organisms can make the inside of your cutting boards their new home.
If your cutting board is beginning to stink, all you need to is rub the surface with half a lemon and salt. Not only will this cheap, easy trick remove odors, but it’ll also do away with most of the bacteria hiding just beneath the surface.
