The Exorcist
The Exorcist is one of those films that no matter how old it gets (almost 50 years), it is still as relevant as ever. It uses all of the original scare tactics in horror films, and you really can’t go wrong with that, even when the effects are incredibly dated and the props are extremely fake. But it almost doesn’t even matter, because I guarantee that you will still be sitting at the edge of your seat.

Director Willian Friedkin knew what he was doing when he placed hidden sounds and images in different scenes throughout the film. Friedkin managed to set off the very human response of fight or flight within all of us. Through the use of buzzing bees or sneakily putting in images of Captain Howdy’s face, who Regan, a young girl claims is the demon possessing her, is a very classic thriller of him.
