55 Instances of Celebrities Clapping Back at Ellen DeGeneres

It’s not uncommon to poke fun at fellow A-listers but Ellen took it a little too far when she was hosting the Academy Awards in 2014. At one point, she looked at Liza Minelli and remarked, “Hello to the best Liza Minelli impersonator I’ve ever seen. Good job, sir.” 

Naturally, Minelli was hurt by the inconsiderate joke about her appearance and even mentioned it on several talk shows after the unfortunate incident. She said it would have been funny, had she not called her “sir.” However, she also gave DeGeneres the benefit of the doubt saying she knows Ellen didn’t mean any harm by it.
