Love and College Tuition are Not Mutually Exclusive
Even in the 21st century coming out can be a difficult and anxiety-filled event for many people. Feelings of inadequacy, worries about safety, and other completely rational thoughts regarding your identity are (unfortunately) normal and commonplace for many members of the LGBTQ community. Even in the most loving families, some people find it uncomfortable and wait for the right time to let people know who they are.

First things first: you’re absolutely perfect the way you are, deserve love, and nobody deserves to be victimized or cut off for being true to themselves. Also, this parent is just terrible. That’s it. There’s no other commentary. Deciding to end your support for your child based on who they love is disgusting. The end.
