Instability
Instability can adversely affect the childhood of a kid. Children experiencing residential instability demonstrate worse academic and social outcomes than their peers who are relatively more stable. The effects could be demonstrated by lower vocabulary skills, problem behaviors, grade retention, a dramatic increase of high school drop-out rates, and lower adult educational attainment.
One user shared that instability has shaped his childhood. At an early age, his dad already left him and his mom. By the time he was 11, his mom was already divorced three times. He also had to transfer to five different schools and seven homes. This eventually led to him feeling out of place and an outsider even as an adult.
