A family is a child’s first line of defense in this cruel world. Based on experience, this is actually true since they became my first line of dense when I came out to my family. While other people may easily judge you, your family will be the first one to understand you and accept you for who you are. However, I know this is not the same for everyone.

I feel sorry for those who had to grow up in an unhealthy family environment. One user shared how his toxic family shaped his entire childhood.
