What the Cast of Friday Night Lights Is Doing Today

Mac McGill and Eric Taylor started off on a bad foot, to say the least. Prior to Eric’s arrival at Dillon High, Mac was the offensive coordinator. He assumed that his time with the Dillon Panthers would mean his eventual promotion to head coach, but that spot was given to Eric instead.

In the third season, Mac McGill takes a leave of absence from his coordinating duties after suffering a heart attack. When he returned to working form, Eric tried to recruit him to an assistant coaching job at East Dillon, but Mac turned him down. In the fifth season of the series, he finally reached his goal and became the head coach of the Dillon Panthers.
