Kathy Bates got her start in the 1971 musical drama Taking Off. An award-winning actress and director, Bates certainly is one of Hollywood’s best and brightest. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Bates gained notoriety for her role in the American psychological thriller Misery, as an obsessed fan torturing her idol.
Appearing in multiple classics such as Titanic, Fried Green Tomatoes, and The Waterboy, Bates has impressed fans countless times in her stellar 60-year career. In 2019, she starred in Richard Jewell, a biographical drama about the 1996 Summer Olympics directed and produced by Clint Eastwood.
