One of the more accomplished actresses of her generation, Cate Blanchett is definitely a heavy hitter in the cinema industry. In Blanchett’s first role, she played Rosie in the 1996 Australian drama Parklands. It was only two years later that she would make it big with her role in the hit movie Elizabeth, the 1998 historical drama.

Having won numerous accolades such as two Academy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards, it’s no surprise this Australian star made our list. Blanchett’s last film, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, won her a tenth Golden Globe nomination. Focused mostly on dramas throughout her career, she is currently filming an upcoming thriller called Nightmare Alley.
