Cooking rice? Use your finger as a measuring tool
Anyone who’s ever tried cooking rice will testify that it’s an impossible task. You’ve probably that you should use two parts water to one part rice. This doesn’t always work, and your rice might come out as a soupy, porridge-like mess. Instead, get a rice cooker.
To get the right water-to-rice ratio, place your rice in the rice cooker’s pot, place your finger on top of the rice, then add water until it reaches the first line of your finger joint. There’s no science to it, but that’s the right amount of water, regardless of how much rice you cook.
