Next-level face recognition
China has gotten a lot of flak for its face-recognition cameras set up all over the country. To some, there’s no point in hiding your face since the government already has a record of it from your driver’s license. However, facial recognition is a lot more frightening than we might have originally thought.
In this Chinese airport, this facial recognition device simply scans your face and tells you your complete flight details. You don’t have to input anything and it already knows! What’s scary is that because these devices know our IDs, they can undoubtedly track our digital footprints. The upside is that dangerous individuals will never be allowed to fly, so that’s a good trade-off for privacy, right? We’re not sure whether we’re serious or not.
