Homemade De-icer
Got ice on your driveway and sidewalk? Here’s a simple DIY de-icer that is easy to make, extremely cheap, and chemical-free. Mix together half a gallon of hot water, a teaspoon of dish soap, and a tablespoon of rubbing alcohol in a bucket.
Then pour this concoction onto your driveway and watch as the ice starts to bubble up and melt. Make sure you have a shovel on hand to scrape away any leftover pieces of ice. The rubbing alcohol’s freezing temperature is lower than that of water and this helps the hot water speed up the melting process. No more slipping on ice unexpectedly!
