How AI Has Advanced in 2021

February 3, 2022 by Brandy

AI is everywhere these days and it’s only going to get more popular. Often shiny new tech trends can sound a little bit farfetched when you’re trying to picture what the world will be like when they become popular. So this article is meant to give you a bit of insight into how AI is progressing and what you can expect in future years.

The most common way for people to interact with AI, at the moment, is through virtual assistants. Whether it’s Siri or Google Now, people love having an automated service to help them get things done.

It’s not just individuals that are benefiting from these virtual assistants though; businesses can benefit too. Whether it’s a small business or a multinational corporation, AI is great for automating everyday tasks such as updating calendars and responding to emails. Sending mail merge style emails to customers is a breeze with the Virtual Assistant SDK from Cloud Assist.

In 2021, most mobile phones will have an AI built in to help with day-to-day tasks. As well as being able to respond to your messages and emails, you’ll also be able to ask your phone questions about the world around you. We’re already seeing this with Google Now, which can tell you about the weather forecast on your drive to work.

Some cars have an AI assistant built in too. With new regulations from governments worldwide making it illegal for a car to be sold without a Virtual Assistant, vehicles of the future will be able to understand and react to drivers’ requests, allowing them to stay safe on the road.

Projected earnings from AI services are expected to be around $200bn in the near futre, with consumer-facing AI products projected to earn $150bn of that total alone. Those are some pretty impressive figures for a service that has only been around for a few years.

It’s not just mobile phones and cars that will have full virtual assistants built in. Most smart TVs and wearable technology will too. It’s expected that within the next three years, around 50% of all devices sold will have an AI assistant built in to help make life easier for the consumer.

It’s businesses that are leading the way when it comes to using virtual assistants though, and they’re not just using virtual assistants as a way to answer customers’ requests. They’re also leveraging them for business process automation too. Some companies have been so successful with integrating AI into their business that they’ve actually cut the number of employees required at each one by 30%.

In conclusion, it’s clear to see that AI isn’t just a fad, it’s going to be a normal part of people’s lives in the future. It will help us keep more productive and keep us safer on the roads too.
