You’ll experience very different treatment at different retail stores. For instance, some people feel bombarded when going to Lowe’s or Home Depot since the employees will ask you every 10 minutes whether you need help. For most of us, we’re shopping in the blind and don’t exactly need help.
At IKEA, it’s completely the opposite. Their staff is trained to leave us alone until we engage them first. They’ll walk around and maybe greet you, but they’ll instantly skedaddle to another part of the store. That being said, they’re always ready to help if you need it.
