#7: Dot Richardson: Softball Star and Physician
Dot Richardson’s life story proves that you really can have it all. Richardson was a softball star for most of her childhood and played for the UCLA Bruins during her college years. After college, Richardson decided to put her orthopedic surgery residency on hold for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Softball was added as an Olympic sport in 1996, and Richardson joined the U.S. team.
Richardson played a big part in the U.S. softball team winning the gold. She hit the winning home run! She went on to play during the 2000 Sydney Games, earning her team another Gold medal. After her stint as an Olympic athlete, she casually went back to her physician studies. She’s a true superstar who serves nonstop inspiration with her drive and passion.
