Sticking with Your Friends
Kids can keep the weirdest collections without thinking twice about their actions. For instance, we used to collect bird feathers because they looked cool, not knowing that the feathers were probably crawling with bacteria. And they weren’t even cool-looking feathers, either. They were crows feathers that fall off the birds’ butts all the time.
This kid collected sticks. Actually, “collected” is the wrong term. This kid befriended sticks. He kept them in his backpack and cried like a banshee when the OP told him to get rid of them. To be fair, the kid was still in preschool at the time, and the stick-befriending thing only lasted about a year.
