An International Signal
Someone, save our ship. Rumor has it that S.O.S stands for “save our ship” or “save our soul.” Interestingly enough, it actually doesn’t stand for any of those things, and really nothing in particular. S.O.S was the given distress call for anyone in trouble back in the days of Morse code.
S.O.S is the international Morse code – three short, three long, three short. As simple, or not so simple, as that. The rumor that S.O.S stands for “Save Our Ship” is believed to have come from a sailor call for help after his ship was damaged and started to sink.
