Catching Your Breath
If you’re ever home alone and find yourself choking on a piece of food with no one around, fear immediately starts to set in, and you will automatically begin to panic. Although this is a terrifying situation, you need to stay calm and remember how to give yourself the Heimlich Maneuver.
Quickly get yourself to a chair or the side of a couch, push your stomach against the edge, and thrust it into your abdomen. This action will force pressure into your stomach, allowing air to heave out of your mouth dislodging whatever it is you are choking on.
