Who Needs A Watch, Anyway?
Here is another nifty little trick to keep in mind for those days of hanging out outdoors. If you hold your hand out straight, all fingers touching, keeping your thumb aligned with the horizon, you will have a good idea of how much time you have left before the sun starts to set.
This is a good survival tip to store away in the memory bank. Depending on your location and the time of year, you never want to be out in the open without all the proper safety gear at night. Of course, this is a rough estimation, but it should give you a pretty good idea of how much daylight remains. It can’t hurt to give it a shot, right?
