First of Six Championship Rings
The Bulls had an impressive postseason run in the 1988-89 playoffs but were ultimately eliminated by the Detroit Pistons in six during the Eastern Conference Finals. They didn’t need to feel too bad since the Pistons swept the Lakers in the NBA Finals that year. They would again lose to the Pistons the following season in seven games during the Conference Finals.

It wasn’t until the 1990-91 NBA season when Michael Jordan and the Bulls won their first ring. They swept the New York Knicks in the first round, won the second round in five games, swept Detroit in four games, and beat the LA Lakers in five games on the Championship stage. MJ also received his first of six Finals MVP trophies.
