Second Retirement
Following the end of the 1997-98 season, MJ had more accolades than any player before him. He was the greatest to ever play the sport at a professional level, and he felt that his time was up. So, on January 13, 1999, MJ announced to the world that he was going to retire yet again.
Over the course of his second stint with the Chicago Bulls, Michael recorded 29.4 PPG with 6.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists. This time, he was three Championship and Finals MVP titles richer. He tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Slater Martin, Magic Johnson, Dennis Rodman, and future great Tim Duncan in rings.
