Taking Control of the Bobcats
On March 17, 2010, Michael Jordan became the majority shareholder of the Charlotte Bobcats. The NBA Board of Governors approved his $275 million purchase, making him the first former NBA player to officially own a basketball team in the league. Years after his retirement, he was still setting new records!

Michael claimed that becoming the majority owner of an NBA team was the culmination of his post-retirement career. However, Jordan, who will go down in history as a legend of the sport, isn’t that great of a president, at least according to some sources. He’s made questionable decisions, including offering a $120-million, four-year deal to Gordon Hayward. However, paired with LaMelo Ball, we see a bright future for the Hornets.
