#34: DNA Traveling to Outer Space
Unless you’re a biologist or work in the field of genetics, you probably don’t know too much about DNA. Here’s an interesting fact: our DNA, also known as deoxyribonucleic acid, is comprised of strands that are packed into the body. Our DNA contains a lot of information about our bodies and their functioning.
And yet, if we were to take the entire strands of DNA and stretch them out, it would reach around the entire solar system – twice! Can you believe that? Our solar system cannot even be seen with the naked eye and yet our complex DNA strands can reach there and back! Luckily, our DNA knows how to stay put and will not be blasting off to outer space anytime soon.
