This woman revealed a moment in time wherein she truly became her mother’s daughter, when she told her young cousin to stop talking to her like one of her ‘little friends.’ The “little friends” phrase is often inserted in a motherly remark. Additionally, it’s usually utilized with a hint of derision or condescension.
More than likely, it’s derived from a place of misunderstanding. She feels like she’s “out of the loop” with these teens and their internet.
