Still Waiting
Mothers can’t wait to be grandmothers. That’s their version of “leveling up.” Yes, you shouldn’t be rude about it. “My mother-in-law really has the audacity to make an FB post that includes, ‘still waiting on my baby grandchild.’” We can see how this would rub some folks the wrong way, particularly the daughter-in-law. Having children is a choice.
This goes back to the age-old rivalry between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law. Vying for the son/husband’s affections. The mother-in-law feeling as though you’re withholding grandchildren as a punishment for her. Regardless, this couple should be free to have kids whenever they want. Sorry, mother-in-law. You’ll just have to wait.
