The Yemeni Fortress in Wadi Dohan, Yemen
The Haid Al-Jazil Yemeni fortress, located in Wadi Doan, is one of many villages comprising the Daw’an district. Seemingly grown from the 100-meter boulder it sits upon, this small village would be perfect for anyone desiring peace and quiet instead of the hustle and bustle that cities provide.
According to a 2004 census, the 500-year-old little town has an average population of only 17 people. I wonder how they manage to survive since it’s obvious that plants may not flourish in such an environment. What about water? There is so much that one needs to know.
