Andy Pafko – 1952 Topps
“Handy Andy” Pafko was born in Boyceville, Wisconsin and was chosen by the Chicago Cubs in 1943 to play professional baseball. He spent his playing career with the Cubs, Dodgers, and Braves. He made five All-Star games during his career and was a 1957 World Series champion team member.
Our list features an oddball player in Dan Pafko. He didn’t hold any significant records and didn’t get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Why did his card sell for more than $250,000? Because it was ranked first in Topps 1952, making it highly sought-after.
