Joe Namath – 1965 Topps
Joe Namath, also known as “Broadway Joe,” is the first player on our list. The all-star QB made his NFL debut with the New York Jets in 1965 and retired with the Los Angeles Rams in 1977 after 140 games. He threw 173 touchdowns during his career and was a five-time Pro Bowler. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame after being introduced there by George Allen.
Broadway Joe Namath was a top-rated quarterback in the 1960s when he led the Jets to victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. It’s no surprise that he won MVP that season, and it’s also no surprise that his card is worth $260,000 if it’s mint.
