LeBron James – Upper Deck 2004
On our list of most valuable sports cards, “King James” appears for the second time. James began his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 before moving to the Los Angeles Lakers. He was 2003 Rookie of the Year, MVP four times, 4-time Finals MVP, 2007 Scoring Champion, and has appeared in 17 All-Star games, among other accomplishments.
Upper Deck’s LeBron James card set was limited to only 23 autographed cards, all of which was his jersey number. One of these cards was bought for a staggering $1.845 million at an auction in July 2020. Each of the cards featured a piece of a game-worn Cavilers jersey from LeBron’s first season with the team.
