Sherry Magie – 1909-11 T206
Sherry Magee was a left fielder in the major leagues from 1904 through 1919, when she played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Braves, and Cincinnati Reds. Sherry Magee was one of the most famous ball-hitters during the dead-ball era, having grown up and been educated in Philadelphia. Despite his status as a great player during his career, this card isn’t that uncommon.
As you can see, there’s a mistake on the card; a white border Sherry Magie card was printed with an error – his last name was misspelled as Magie rather than Magee. Because the mistake was discovered quickly, relatively few cards were produced, making these cards extremely rare. Card collectors will tell you that this is one of the most well-known error cards available.
