Give Them Your Back
The way people in South Korea treat each other is quite amusing compared to how they are treated in the United States. It’s highly impolite to face someone while turning your back on them in the West. However, there are times when this is required in South Korea to show respect for others.
It’s an age-old custom to accept a Soju or Korean beer shot from someone older than you. However, when drinking with an older individual or someone who has a higher position, it is critical to treat them differently. And when taking a sip, it implies turning your head or back on them in respect.
