Church St. Martin, Cologne, Germany – 1946 vs. 2021
There is no doubt that in terms of WWII, it took a long time to rebuild and restore the many damaged structures and streets resulting from the fighting. The most tragic aspect about the whole thing is that numerous historical buildings were either destroyed or significantly damaged throughout this period.
Churches were destroyed during the conflict, including Church St. Martin in Cologne, Germany, owing to a miscalculation by architects and planners. This was undoubtedly a well-needed restoration, especially considering that it was damaged due to the war. As you can see, a lot of effort went into it over the years. In 2021, it was restored to its former glory.
