21 hours on the Moon
In the annals of history, it stands proudly etched that Aldrin and Armstrong shared the Moon’s stark beauty for over 21 hours, their lunar sojourn a testament to human determination. Following their celestial rendezvous with Collins, the trio embarked on their triumphant journey back to Earth, reuniting with their home planet eight days after their departure.

However, the return to Earth was not without its precautions. Eighteen days of quarantine awaited them, a necessary step to ensure their safety and that of their fellow Earthlings. Yet, the day of jubilation was not far off. Emerging from quarantine, Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins were greeted by exuberant throngs of well-wishers. The celebrations included ticker-tape parades in both Chicago and New York, alongside a whirlwind of media engagements and public appearances that attested to the extraordinary nature of their accomplishment.
